How D55 supported Bryt Energy in using a modern data strategy in AWS to innovate and improve customer service

Bryt Energy are based in Birmingham, UK with a team of 80+, it exists to bring green energy to businesses. Since its launch in 2016 it has grown significantly, supporting all size of business, but particularly large corporates with their ESG and sustainability objectives through the provision of green energy. They are based in Birmingham, UK with a team of 80+.



Bryt Energy was delivering best in class service to its customers, but needed a large team to close the gap around processes. Bryt wanted to make its systems work more efficiently, so it could continue the high level of customer service at a reduced cost, and free the team up to focus on other areas of the business. 


The Bryt team were working across numerous SAAS applications from multiple providers that didn't integrate. That meant they were "swivel chairing" and entering the same or similar information across multiple systems - a huge drain on resource.

We created a SAAS integration capability in AWS which integrates their different systems and pulls data from all of them into a central data lake using technologies including AWS Lake Formation, Lambda, API Gateway and DynamoDB. This allowed us to fill the gaps in the SAAS products, providing better insight and ensuring Bryt can easily respond to market need, without being beholden to its SAAS providers. 


Looking Forward

Bryt has already seen material changes in both staff and customer behaviour since working with D55. There has been a marked increase .in customers using the portal, and cultural changes as staff are more engaged and have time to focus on impactful business changes.
